Kate and Scott’s Wedding at the Lily Lake Inn

Kate and Scott picked a beautiful day for their wedding at the Lily Lake Inn in Wolcott, CT.  The weather was ideal and the location was perfect.  The Lily Lake Inn has beautiful gardens, and an open area with a lake in the background for an out door ceremony.  Take a look.

Ice Cream at The Washington Green Cafe

This has to be one of the hottest summers on record.  The only good thing about that is it makes ice cream even more enjoyable.  Joe and Clare decided a stop at the Washington Green Cafe in Washington Connecticut would be just the thing to beat the heat.  Of course, a couple in a bridal dress and tux is not exactly an everyday site in the Cafe.

Danielle and Bobby

Danielle and Bobby were married at the Villa Bianca in Shelton Connecticut on March 17th.  As you may know, March 17th was St. Patrick’s Day and with the luck of the Irish, Danielle and Bobby were blessed with a clear, sunny, beautiful day with temperatures in the 60s.  It was amazing for the middle of March as were the two of them.  Will and I agreed they were the most relaxed, laid back couple we’ve ever worked with.  They made our job easy.

Country Club of Waterbury Connecticut

If you live anywhere within 30 miles of Waterbury Connecticut and you are still looking for a location for your wedding reception you should take a look at the Country Club of Waterbury.   Since it’s a private club, you may never have thought of it as an option.  Well, it is.  You don’t have to be a member or be sponsored by a member to be able to enjoy this beautiful setting for your reception.  We’ve done weddings at a variety of country clubs, but the Country Club of Waterbury is the only one we know of that actually allows you on the course for photographs.  These should give you some idea.

Liz and Brian at the Mayflower Inn

The Mayflower Inn in Washington Ct. is one of the most beautiful spots in western Connecticut.  When Liz told me that would be the location for their wedding, I was on board right away.   The natural light in and around so many of their buildings is just beautiful.

Tim and Mary’s wedding at Harkness Memorial State Park

Tim and Mary held their wedding reception at the Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford, CT, which is next to New London, CT. I had never been there before, in fact, I’d never heard of it, but I’m certainly glad I know of it now. It is a stunning beautiful former estate located right on Long Island Sound. The mansion has been beautifully maintained, it’s surrounded by gardens and has acres of lawn that lead right to the water. It is just a beautiful location that was perfect for Tim and Mary.

Sarah and Ben at Lily Lake Inn

Lily Lake Inn is a beautiful lake side reception hall in Wolcott, CT.  We attended a bridal show there a couple weeks ago and there were several couples who were considering Lily Lake for their wedding.  It was a little hard to get a good idea of what a beautiful setting this is when it’s buried under at least two feet of snow.  So, we thought we’d post some images from Sarah and Ben’s summer wedding.

The Mayflower Inn

I need to express my thanks to the Mayflower Inn & Spa.  The Mayflower is a stunningly beautiful inn located in Washington, Connecticut.  The gardens are a visual delight and the spa is washed in sunlight.  Take a look.

Liz and Brian’s Wedding

Liz and Brian selected The Heritage Hotel in Southbury CT for the site of their wedding and reception.  We were as delighted with that choice as they were because the staff always does a terrific job and the Heritage has a beautiful garden area that works well for both the ceremony and group pictures.  We started our day around a grand piano at the home of Liz’s parents and ended it in the Heritage garden under the lights.

The Hopkins Inn

The Hopkins Inn

I can’t tell you how many weddings I’ve photographed at The Hopkins Inn in New Preston Connecticut but this last one gave me an unexpected gift.  I was photographing the bide and groom with their families by a field over looking the lake and I noticed a couple sitting in their camp chairs not too far form where we were shooting.  The idea of photographing the bride and groom in those chairs came to me immediately and I couldn’t get the idea out of my mind.  I approached the couple in the chairs, who as it turned out they were celebrating their 29 wedding anniversary, and they were more than happy to let their chairs be part of our celebration.  We all loved the result.
