Bad Apples Roller Derby Team

We had an opportunity to photograph some of the members of New York City’s “Bad Apples” roller derby team.  They were great!

Jen and Bob’s Wedding at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Southbury Connecticut and their reception at the Waterview in Monroe Connecticut

After a beautiful wedding ceremony at the Sacred Heart Church in Southbury Connecticut, Jen and Bob held their reception at the Waterview in Monroe Connecticut.  Blue skies, plenty of sun, and many, many friends and family marked their very special day.

Tiffany and Eddie’s Wedding in Danbury Connecticut

Tiffany and Eddie were married at the New Hope Baptist Church, did their formal pictures in the gardens of Terrywile Manor, and held their reception at the Matrix Center all in Danbury Connecticut.  It was a terrific day, lots of sun, lots of laughter, lots of great music, and two really, really nice young people.

Mike and Megan’s Wedding at the Fox Hill Inn in Brookfield CT

Mike and Megan selected the beautiful Fox Hill Inn in Brookfield CT for their wedding and reception.  It was a pretty cold but clear late November day and we arrived at the Inn just at twilight.  The Inn was decorated and lit for the holidays and with the light fading fast we only had a few minutes to capture the pictures Megan had heart set on.  It was one of those days when all of the pieces fell right into place.  We set our lights, Megan, Mike, and the bridal party hit their marks with great smiles, and the pictures looked beautiful.

Alison and Adam’s Wedding at the Pavilion at Crystal Lake in Middletown, CT

It’s always fun when someone introduces us to a new wedding venue.  That’s exactly what Adam and Alison did when they invited us to photograph their wedding at the Pavilion at Crystal Lake.  It was new to us and while we’re not always wild about some of these new spots, we really liked this one.  It has an area in the woods for the ceremony, a beautiful and quiet lake front, and a casual, rustic barn like building for the reception.  While theirs was our first, we don’t intend to let it be our last wedding there.

Nicole and Eric’s Wedding at the Lotus Club in New York City

The Locus Club in New York City is one of the oldest and most elegant of its kind.  The perfect location for Eric and Nicole.

Kelly and Joe’s Wedding at Aria

Aria is a brand new venue in Prospect Connecticut.  When I saw it, or what would become it,  a little less than a year ago it was little more than a hole in the ground.  At the end of April, Aria hosted its first wedding, Kelly and Joe’s, and as it turned out that wasn’t the only “first” of the evening, at least not for us.  Kelly and Joe were the perfect couple to be the first at Aria because they embrace adventure.  For their honeymoon they spend a week in Colorado snow boarding and a week in the Carribean on the beach.  If you’re looking for a good party find out where they’re going.  They had great a live band, not a first but live music is certainly rare anymore  and they had an equally great second band that played a short set.  That was a first because it was Joe’s band and we’ve never done a wedding in which the groom was both the wedding celebrant and part or the entertainment.  It was a blast!

Susan and Barry at the Webb Barn

Barry is a craftsman.  His furniture reflects both his love of wood and his careful attention to detail.  Many of his pieces reflect the designs of an earlier era.  Susan shares Barry’s respect for the kind of quality that can stand the test of time.  They found the perfect location for their wedding at the Wedd Barn in Wethersfield, Connecticut.  The barn is part of the                         Webb-Deane-Stevens Museum which consists of three beautifully preserved colonial homes, gardens, and the Webb Barn.  Unfortunately, the rain kept us from photographing in the gardens, but the weather couldn’t dampen the fun.

The Waterview in Monroe Connecicut

The Waterview in Monroe  is one of the really popular (and one of  our favorite) wedding venues in Connecticut.  Danielle and Jeff picked an absolutely gorgeous day  for their wedding.  Maybe even better than the day and location was their dip at the end of their first dance as husband and wife.
